Site & Version Changes

site Version 5.7 of the Websource code is the latest release to the public. The new code is now running under this site, and is finally available for download. While the changes on the site should be transparent to most visitors, it will be a great deal different for anyone planning to use the new code on an existing system. My advice is to completely start from scratch with this new version--my appologies, as I never kept track of all of the DB changes for a conversion script. Read more below for a better listing of added features.

New features since last public release: -A new, easier to use administration/maintenance interface. -News article delay and expiration (articles & announcements). -Draft mode and comment disabling for news articles. -New security methods, and page-by-page security settings. -Rebuilt content administration system (allows for the new security). -Corrected the dynamic content builder (builds pages on the filesystem). -Added an additional field for user opt-in (to recieve site emails). -Allowed themes to determine placement of side column boxes. -Created new themes for the site, including the new default theme. -Rebuilt themes and pages to be more dependent on div's & CSS, not tables. -Converted site to make use of new default PHP security settings. -Reduced global vars, and added code to explicitly request any passed vars. -Bug fixes galore--I won't even start naming them. Check the changelog.
